Vortex

The food at Vortex is incredibly flavorful, natural ingredients, baked and prepared by people that love to make tasty dishes. The soups and wraps are so delicious, that I can't write this without my mouth watering. Everyone is always so cheerful and nice, it's always a pleasure to eat here.

What a wonderful place to have lunch on the island!!! Friendly staff, and the lady who makes the sandwiches and wraps, with the sweetest smile, served us the heartiest of vegeterian wraps and sandwiches. We were wonderfully surprised in how flavorful and fresh the food was. We used little to no seasoning /condiments because the veggies, hummus, cheese and avocados by themselves were very flavourful, and the herb/spinach tortilla wraps and the freshly baked artisan bread warmed and made perfectly crisp on a cast iron griddle, complimented them perfectly as the outer shell. The fresh juices we ordered were also very tasty. The place was open only wednesday through Saturday, and since we went in on Saturday, we didn't get a chance to visit it again while on the island. Overall we had a great experience, and I would recommend vegetarians and vegans to definitely give this place a try.

My wife and I came here for a quick lunch while exploring Lopez Island. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the food was freshly made when we ordered it. I ordered the curry and it was hot, delicious and complex, exactly what was needed after a long morning of hiking in the cold. My wife ordered a vegetarian wrap with peanut sauce and she loved the freshness of the salad and the serving size. The food was light enough to keep us going for the rest of the day. The seating area can be limited on cold days, but overall it is a nice place to eat and warm up.

You cannot go wrong by partaking of the wonderful home made soups and and imaginative dishes on the Vortex menu. They give whole new meaning to wraps; their Bean and cheese and corn wrap is to die for (from their menu: Black beans and corn marinated in cilantro and lime, a little brown rice, our mild chili vegetable sauce, and mixed greens with vinaigrette). Makes my mouth water just writing this! They are friendly, and everything is always fresh using local ingredients and produce. I highly recommend Vortex.

The most delicious bowl! They have chop everything so it takes some time. I called in an order and then sat in their lovely yard to eat my bowl. Most delicious meal in quite some time. Yum!

Incredibly yummy!!! The Greek wrap was amazing, and the Corn Hill as a salad blew us away. The Slush we had to go with it was equally wonderful. We loved this place and will be back (maybe even making a special trip to this island just for lunch here!)

Greek salad was one of the best I've ever had. Fresh juice and soup were also excellent. Great outdoor eating area with plenty of spacing.

If you want delicious, organic, local, healthy food or juice, this is the place. Good is made with love for all. My faves... Southwest bowl, pintos and quinoa bowl, corn hill, the salad with feta and salmon, kale and bean soup...you can't go wrong here! Jean infuses everything with love too!
